Mrs. Ashley Faulkenberry, Principal

Mrs. Ashley Faulkenberry is proud to serve as the principal of Creekside Elementary School. A dedicated educator, wife, and mother, she brings both professional experience and a deep personal commitment to her role.
Mrs. Faulkenberry has been married to her husband, Roy, for nearly 13 years, and together they have two wonderful and energetic children, Emerson and Mason. Family is at the heart of everything she does, and that same sense of care and connection extends into her leadership at Creekside.
With 18 years of service in education, all within Craven County Schools, Mrs. Faulkenberry has built a strong foundation of experience and leadership. She began her career as a teacher at J.T. Barber and Creekside Elementary Schools, later serving as an administrator at Havelock Elementary and West Craven Middle School. Most recently, she served as principal of Trent Park Elementary beginning in the 2017–2018 school year.
As a New Bern native and a proud product of Craven County Schools, Mrs. Faulkenberry has come full circle—from student, to teacher, to school leader. Her passion for education is rooted in her belief in the potential of every child and her commitment to creating a positive, high-expectations learning environment.
Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her family, playing golf, reading, and relaxing at the beach whenever possible.
Mrs. Faulkenberry is excited to return to her Creekside Elementary family and looks forward to a successful school year built on strong relationships, high expectations, and a shared commitment to student success.
